Customize Shopify deposits with Downpay's redesigned API docs
The API that powers custom Shopify deposit and partial payment workflows now has a cleaner, faster reference.
Making it easier for Shopify developers to build with Downpay
Payments workflows look different for every brand Downpay works with. Questions like when to authorize payment, when to send invoices and reminders, and when to collect the balance don't have one answer. That's why we built Downpay API-first from the start.
And now we've just finished a redesign of our API documentation site. You can visit it at api.downpay.app.
It's simpler to navigate, more readable, and even has a dark mode!
What does Downpay's API enable?
Downpay's API lets developers and agencies build fully custom Shopify partial payment workflows.
It provides even more flexibility than Downpay's Shopify Flow integration to solve the core problem facing high-value merchants: getting customers to say yes to something expensive online the same way they would in a store.
Some of the specific use cases for the API include:
- Authorizing a payment method on file before fulfillment
- Collecting the balance based on order status or tag
- Connecting Downpay to no-code tools like Zapier as well as Shopify Flow
Merchants selling made-to-order products, running preorder campaigns, and managing high-AOV orders with specific timing requirements use Downpay's API in workflows that fit how they actually sell.
Check out the redesigned API reference at api.downpay.app.
